Honor Local Veterans Through Wreaths Across America

Herriman City invites residents to help honor and remember local veterans through the annual Wreaths Across America program at the Herriman City Cemetery. Each December, community members come together to place wreaths on the graves of U.S. military veterans, recognizing their service and sacrifice while carrying on the program’s mission to remember the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach future generations about the value of freedom.

This year’s Wreath Laying Ceremony will take place Saturday, December 19, at 10:00 a.m. at the Herriman City Cemetery. The ceremony will include a flag ceremony, the singing of the National Anthem, remarks from a Herriman City Council member, and the placement of wreaths on veterans’ graves. As wreaths are placed, volunteers are encouraged to speak each veteran’s name aloud and reflect on their life and service.

Residents can help support this tradition by sponsoring a wreath for a veteran laid to rest at the Herriman City Cemetery. Sponsorships start at $17 per wreath and help make the annual ceremony possible. Community members are encouraged to consider sponsoring a wreath and joining the City in honoring those who have served.
